HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - It's an understatement to say that Spam is loved in Hawaii, now Hormel Foods is hosting a contest to show how much locals really enjoy the canned meat.
The Hawaii Spam can designed by Scott Kaneshiro hits store shelves next week and to generate buzz over the limited-time-only can design, Hormel is staging a video contest.
From July 25th to August 12th, fans can create 30-second video clips of themselves showing how much they love Spam. Submissions can be submitted and uploaded to hawaiispamcan.com.
Hawaii residents can view and vote for their favorite entry from August 15th to the 19th.
Once the entries are submitted and voted on, Hormel will select the winner from among the top five vote-getters. The overall winner will receive $500 cash and a year supply of Spam.
The four runners-up also will receive a gift bag and a number of Spam products.
