No Tsunami after 6.2 Japan quake

TOKYO, JAPAN (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck in the Pacific Ocean off southern Japan.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 7:51 a.m. Hawaii time and did not generate a tsunami.

According to the U.S.G.S the quake hit 49 miles southeast of Sendai, 59 miles east of Fukushima.

It was at a depth of 22 miles.

On Saturday, a magnitude-6.4 quake struck in the same area off the east coast of Honshu.
