HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man was taken to the hospital in serious condition Wednesday morning after he was struck in the crosswalk at the intersection of King and McCully Streets.

According to police, the victim was struck by a Dragon Tours white tour van at about 5 a.m.

He was then transported to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

"When he walked out, he stepped out in front of the van," witness Amanda Cunningham said. "I was pretty shaken up after I'd seen it. I've never seen anything like it before, so it was scary."

Police closed McCully Street for about 30 minutes.
