Job Link Now: Halekulani and Waikiki Parc

Waikiki (HawaiiNewsNow) - As you all know, Diane Ako is no stranger to the news business or the station, but now she's working as PR Director at the Halekulani Corporation, which by the way is hiring at the Halekulani and the Waikiki Parc hotels.

There's about 12 or 15 positions open. This week in particular we have 20 jobs open, and they run the gamut from line staff all the way up to managers. The positions I would  like to highlight this week are Halekulani banquet manager, assistant baker, spa coordinator and Waikiki Parc food and beverage manager.

A banquet manager helps put on events. You book the event, be it a wedding or corporate event, and this person has to execute your wishes within your given budget. So he or she has to work with all the departments like food prep, flower shop, engineering, housekeeping, purchasing, and be versed in all kinds of services from coffee breaks to cocktails, fine dining, theme parties, live stations, so they have to have a pretty extensive repertoire.

Because the Halekulani and the Waikiki Parc are such a high level luxury hotel, service is very important to us, so people that apply have to have previous experience working at a four to a five star hotel. They have to be people oriented, service oriented and depending on the job, we either prefer or require Japanese fluency. The PBX operator has to be bilingual, taking the calls.
