Airglow signature of tsunami detected using Maui cameras

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Daily India reports for the first-time ever, scientists recorded the airglow signature of a tsunami using a camera system on Maui.

It was detected in the upper atmosphere during the devastating Mar. 11 tsunami.

It came before the wave by an hour, and now researchers are looking into whether it could be used as an early warning system.
