Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Na Hoku Hanohano and Hawaiian Music Award winner Danny Couch will perform at Hawaii Kai Towne Center's three-part summer concert series "Sunset Serenade" on Saturday, July 16th. Admission is FREE to everyone.
"Now in our seventh year, ‘Sunset Serenade' is a time for family and friends to kick back, get to know their Hawaii Kai neighbors and enjoy some of Hawaii's great musicians," said Carmen Magno Hawaii Kai Towne Center general manager. "We are pleased to bring this community together to experience a wonderful event for the whole family."
It will be an evening of entertainment and fun as Couch takes the waterfront stage on Saturday, July 16th at 5:30 p.m. During the "Sunset Serenade," various Hawaii Kai Towne Center merchants will have stations set up in the breezeway near the waterfront stage featuring their services, merchandise, as well as food for purchase.
Couch took the entertainment world by storm at the tender age of 12, when he formed his first band and wrote his first song. A few years later, his first song "From My Heart," won Song of the Year in the 1985 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. Since then, Couch has grown into an amazingly talented singer, and has established himself as a musician, writer, arranger and producer.
From 1980 to 1990, Couch starred in the Don Ho Show and was also a featured entertainer at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Dome. In 1984 he appeared on Star Search and in 1988 performed a duet with Dolly Parton on her show. Numerous songs he wrote have been chosen as theme songs for big name shows, including the Dolly Parton Show, the 1998 Miss Universe Pageant, the Hawaii Visitors Bureau, and the Hawaii Convention Center. Many of Couch's recordings have won Na Hoku Hanohano and Hawaiian Music Awards.
Couch is second in the lineup for the three-part concert series at the Hawaii Kai Towne Center. He takes that stage on Saturday, July 16 at 5:30 p.m. Na Palapalai will be the final act in the concert series and is set to perform on Saturday, August 13th at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the 7th Annual "Sunset Serenade" concert series is FREE TO EVERYONE.
