Crews put out Lahaina brush fire

LAHAINA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A small brush fire broke out at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday in Lahaina.

According to fire officials, it took about an hour for eight firefighters to put out the burning brush in the Ukumehame area.

The fire is about a quarter-mile mauka of Honoapiilani Highway.

Officials say about a quarter-acre of land was scorched.

No injuries were reported.
