Coming Up on Hawaii News Now Wednesday

Aloha from Hawaii News Now ... Here's what we're working on for our 5 and 5:30 newscasts on this Wednesday.

State Rep. Kymberly Pine says she's the target of an extortion attempt and a case of harassment. It all stems from a website created by a man who claims the Ewa Beach legislator stole money and filed a false police report. Jim Mendoza will have the latest information tonight at 5.

The state-wide ban on so-called novelty lighters was signed into law yesterday by the Governor. Tonight, Brooks Baehr will look further into the ban and the types of lighters that are now outlawed.

Reports of a gunman roaming the floors of a state building prompted the closing a busy office building today. We'll have more on that.

Also, Guy Hagi says it's, "steady as she goes," when it comes our island weather. He also will have the latest on that summer swell expected to arrive this week. And Kelly Mumme will have your afternoon look at the evening commute.

I hope you'll join Stephanie Lum and me for these stories and more on Hawaii News Now at 5 and 5:30.
