Fire damages Mililani townhome

MILILANI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu firefighters responded to a fire at a Mililani residence on Wednesday.

The fire broke at around 11 a.m. at a townhome on Kuahelani Avenue.

According to officials, the fire appears to have been started by an electrical malfunction.

Investigators say the three residents were not home when the fire started.

Damages are estimated at $50,000.

The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The American Red Cross is assisting the affected residents.
