HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - It's "Circle Island" by bike, not bus, as people pedal to promote bicycle safety this weekend.
Family and friends of Zachary Manago are riding around Oahu in his memory. They want bikers and rivers to be aware as they share Hawaii's roads.
Aside from the around-the-island ride, the group also held a free "cycle safe" course that includes on- and off-road safety tips.
Manago, 18, was killed by a hit-and-run driver last December as he rode a bike as part of a group along Kamehameha Highway near Wahiawa. Manago's family said support continues to carry them through the tragedy.
