HONOLULU, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Here's a look at some of what's happening today. Some Iolani students will be hitting the waves today for the start of a special summer course with Surfider Spirit Sessions. Students will get surfing lessons at Kuhio beach from former at-risk teens who went through the program. They'll be joined by the school's headmaster, an avid stand up surfer and chaplain, who we're told could use a few lessons himself.
Help celebrate the completion of the largest aerosol paint mural in the state The Kalihi water writes mural is a 55-hundred square foot collaboration between local artist John Hina and community organizations. It highlights the importance of water in Hawaii and features a 25-foot portrait of Queen Liliuokalani. Join the party at 905 Kokea street, from 4 to 7 o'clock.
