Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Now you can more easily file your claims and get on with the job of getting your next job. Starting Monday the state will allow renewal claims to be filed.

The Realtors Association of Maui reports 81 homes went to closing last month, and 101 condos.  Median price 429,000, down more than 50,000 from last year at the same time - condo median 295,000.  If you look at the last months, not just June, the Maui picture looks stronger.  Oahu stats come out later today.

The City & County of Honolulu plans a bond sale next week, and Fitch has given the offerings a good rating.  Fitch notes pension liabilities but says the city has a pretty stable tax base.

Alexander & Baldwin has hired a San Francisco executive of Goldman Sachs to be its new CFO.  Joel Wine succeeds Chris Benjamin, who's taking charge of A&B land group, the real estate and farming divisions

The Attorney General of Vermont says he won't file charges against top executives of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Plant.   The executives said under oath that the plant had no underground pipes that might leak.  Turns out, the plant does have underground pipes and they are leaking.
