Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Brandon League is on baby watch.  The Seattle Mariner player became the only local boy to be on the All-Star Game's roster next week.  He's also asking everyone to participate in the public voting.  If Shane gets in by public vote, it will be the first time 2 local boys will be in the All-Star Game; although they will have to play against each other.

Billboard magazine announced today that Kuana Torres Kahele's CD "Kaunaloa" has debuted at number one on the coveted World Music charts.  The Hilo native also debuted at number one on the I-Tunes World Digital chart.  Kuana is known as a founding member of the traditional Hawaiian supergroup, Na Palapalai.  12 of 13 tracks are original compositions from Kuana. Of particular interest has been the deluxe 24 page color booklet with both English and Hawaiian translations.

This weekend the Hawaii Theatre will be busy with several shows; on Saturday July 9th it will be a tribute to Aunty Vicki I'i Rodrigues; who was a renown and loved composer, musician, singer/recording artist and both choreographer and Kumu Hula. Vickie's long professional career included 16 years with the radio show "Hawai`i Calls.
