Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Your gas bill eased a little in recent weeks, but the crude oil declines of 60 days ago are almost played out at retail. Prices were kind of flat over the 4th of July weekend, both on the mainland and here.

A look at some sample cities shows Honolulu average regular between New York and San Francisco prices.

Don't expect much more decline.  Crude is rising this morning on expectations rising demand.

A quiet time for cruise visits.  The Nippon Maru left pier 11 Thursday and the Asuka II is there today. The Dawn Princess will arrive at Aloha Tower in August.

In federal business,  the park service is looking for a contractor to strengthen the Ohia Wing of Volcano House and bring it into compliance with FEMA seismic standards. The Ohia Wing was built in 1932.

The Federal Highway Administration is soliciting bids for improving the far western end of Saddle Road,  and the army has put out a solicitation for cemetery service at Schofield.

Soaring jet fuel has got all the major airlines kicking the tires on new jets.
