Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - 2011 marks the 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. This concert was produced to commemorate that event and to give tribute to our veterans who at that time saw our nation through one of its darkest hours. As the program developed, however, we quickly recognized we simply had to expand the scope of our theme to include a show of respect and gratitude to our men and women who are currently serving and protecting us each day. So this concert, A Salute to Valor, is meant to celebrate our nation's birthday and to express our gratitude and respect for those who have sacrificed and who continue to sacrifice for our great nation.
Doors open at 7:30 PM. Concert begins at 8:00 PM. Program is family-]friendly and admission is completely free. Concert features Patriotic and American Music performed by a 120 voice choir from across the United States, the US Navy Pacific Fleet Band, and a full professional orchestra.
Tickets can be picked up at the Neal Blaisdell Box Office.
