HONOLULU (AP) - The four inmates who left an Oahu minimum-security facility and were apprehended after a two-day search have been charged with escape.

Charged Wednesday with second-degree escape are 28-year-old Elijah Keakahumoku, 20-year-old Jordan White, 40-year-old David Carvalho and 24-year-old George Thomas.

They were roommates at the Waiawa Correctional Facility, where they were discovered missing early Sunday during a routine check.

They were located Monday night and arrested.

Deputy Director of Corrections Joe Booker says the four men walked off the facility, which is where inmates serving the final phase of their sentences are housed.

One of the men was due to be released in three weeks.

The four now face five years in prison if convicted.

Booker says the incident shows there are possible flaws in the facility's accountability process.
