HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Commission on Water Resource Management voted Wednesday to approve the city's request to alter four streams for the proposed rail project.
The city will have to build concrete columns in or near the Waiawa Tributary and the Kapalama, Moanalua and Nuuanu streams to support the guideway.
According to a rail spokesman, it will not affect the flow of the streams.
He says the alteration plans include restoring native plants and re-grading stream banks.
