HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mayor Peter Carlisle stopped by Sunrise this morning to talk about the city's inaugural Celebration Parade coming up this Sunday, July 3rd. An estimated 40 entries will start the parade at 6pm near Fort DeRussy and make their way down Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park.
The event is designed to honor our cultural heritage, salute members of the armed forces and celebrate the Royal Hawaiian Band's 175th birthday. The movie "Soul Surfer" will be featured at Sunset on the Beach starting about 7:15pm.
The mayor brought members of the Royal Hawaiian Band with him this morning and they performed in Studio B. Check out the video.
