HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An Oahu driver responsible for a crash that killed his girlfriend two years ago was sentenced Tuesday to jail time equal to the amount he has already served -- or 79 days.

"I'm fine with it," Daniel Arias, crash victim's father, said. "Nothing can bring her back."

Devin Martin, then 21, was driving his car in Kaimuki when he ran a stop sign at an intersection and collided with an SUV. His passenger, Dallas Aloha Arias, 18, died from her injuries.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash. Martin was convicted of third-degree negligent homicide and driving without a license.

Circuit Judge Michael Wilson sentenced him to time already served and one-year probation. Daniel Arias shook Martin's hand and accepted his apology.
