'Convoy of Hope' headed to Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A massive shipment of food and supplies is headed to Hawaii to help out the needy.

The Convoy of Hope nonprofit organization is partnering with local businesses, agencies and churches to offer free food, entertainment and help to those who need it.

About 21 tons of food and supplies will be distributed to about 7,000 people.

The event will take place July 23 at the Aloha Stadium.

According to the organization, the level of need on Oahu is high.
