Two Schofield-based soldiers killed in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON, D.C. (HawaiiNewsNow) - Schofield Barracks is mourning the loss of two of its soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

Specialist Levi Nuncio of Harrisonburg, Virginia died Wednesday after enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Afghanistan. The 24-year old was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

Nuncio's awards include the army commendation medal, and two purple hearts.

Also killed was Private First Class Joshua Jetton of Sebring, Florida.

He died on Monday after insurgents attacked his unit.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

Jetton was married 4 months ago and his wife is expecting twins.
