HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A town hall meeting will be held tonight to discuss Foodland's departure from Koko Marina Center. It will take place at 7 p.m. at Kaiser High School.
After nearly five decades in its Hawaii Kai location, the supermarket is closing for good next month. It will be replaced by Walgreens.
Foodland says it's being pushed out, but the center says Foodland walked away from lease negotiations. Representatives from both are expected to attend tonight's meeting.
Hawaii Kai residents Laura Buck and Paige Altonn have collected more than 2,000 signatures protesting the dispute and Foodland's upcoming departure.
