Big Surf Building on South Shores and Stars in Scandals

Good morning. Several stories are on our radar for this Tuesday edition of Sunrise, including severe weather advisories and apologies from high profile men caught in scandals.

SEVERE WEATHER: BIG SURF ADVISORY

Watch out for big surf from now through Thursday. It's building along all Hawaiian shores, promising a bump on South shores. Expect surf heights of 5 to 8 feet today, peaking at 8 to 10 feet on Wednesday.

HAWAII KAI CUSTOMERS TAKE A STAND AGAINST CLOSURE OF FOODLAND

Two thousand residents are expected at a town hall meeting tonight called to discuss the closure of the

Foodland grocery story at the Koko Marina Shopping Center. Walgreens is set to open in its place. We'll have a crew covering the meeting tonight at 7PM at Kaiser High School.

BEACH CONCESSIONS ON THE MENU FOR HONOLULU CITY COUNCIL

Today, the Honolulu City Council Parks and Human Services Committee will consider a 3 year pilot program that would allow vendors to sell food and crafts to beach goers at city parks in Leeward Oahu.

REP. WEINER'S LAST DAY IN CONGRESS

New York Representative Anthony Weiner serves his last day in Congress today, but there will be one more act before he's officially out. A resignation letter will be read on the House floor today. He announced last Thursday that he would step down after a series of explicit personal pictures went public on twitter.

COMEDIAN TRACY MORGAN TO "SAY SORRY" FOR ANTI-GAY RANT

Speaking of scandal, at 6:30 this morning, comedian Tracy Morgan will hold a news conference in Nashville to apologize to the gay and lesbian community. It's to say sorry for an anti-gay rant he made during a comedy show earlier this month.
