Jake Shimabukuro and Traffic Safety Jingle winners

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Wednesday, Farmers Insurance Hawaii held a Traffic Safety Jingle contest. Contestants had to write lyrics to the traffic tune "Drive Safe," composed by ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro. Shimabukuro judged the contestants along with Hawaii News Now Sunrise traffic reporter Taizo Braden.

The contest produced not one, but two winners: Kirby Ai from Honolulu and Amanda, Angela and Anthony Frazier from Aiea. All four participants appeared on Hawaii News Now Sunrise to perform their lyrics live.

Each winner receives a private 30-minute jam session with Shimabukuro and a $500 Apple Gift Card. Both of their lyrics will be used in the jingle to create a traffic safety public service announcement.

Jake will also be performing tonight at "Ke Kani O Ke Kai," a concert series tonight (Thursday) at the Waikiki Aquarium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the show starts at 7 p.m.
