HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- The Department of the Attorney General held a press conference for the indictment of a former elementary school worker on Monday.

Douglas Lopez, 45, was indicted on first degree electronic enticement of a child.

According to police, Lopez tried to have sex with his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter.

This is the second time in Hawaii where the case involved an actual juvenile. Until now, all such cases involved an undercover officer posing as a female juvenile.

During the press conference, Attorney General David Louie spoke about the statewide Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

The Hawaii ICAC Task Force is part of a nationwide network of ICAC Task Forces dedicated to protecting children online.

"The message to the child predators out there is 'Stop it. Don't do it,'" Louie said. "If you want to do this, we're going to find you. We're going to prosecute you."

If convicted, Lopez faces a mandatory 10 years in prison.
