HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have launched a second-degree assault investigation after a child from Ewa Beach showed up at a hospital with burns to her body.

Investigators say a woman brought her three-year-old daughter to the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children Saturday. The little girl reportedly told her mother that the burns to her shoulder area occurred when her 33-year-old father gave her a shower.

The victim was treated for her burns and police were notified. Officers have not made any arrests.
