High surf advisory in effect on Maui

MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A high surf advisory is in effect for all south-facing shores of Maui County until Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The surf along south-facing shores will be between six and eight feet through Tuesday afternoon. Waves will continue rise heading into the weekend.

Due to the hazardous wave action and strong rip currents, the public is advised to stay out of the water and away from shore breaks.
