HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii's longest-running wine and food event returns June 9-12, for its 30th year of cutting edge food, wine, and Hawaiian cuisine, all within the breathtaking setting of the worldrenowned Kapalua Resort.
Long time host, Master Sommelier Fred Dame, will bring several of the world's most famous winemakers, master sommeliers and celebrated chefs for wine tastings, a gourmet cooking demonstration and festive gala functions held throughout the weekend at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.
The four-day event themed "A Toast to 30" will have a special emphasis on Hawaii's Regional Cuisine through its continued partnership with the Maui County Farm Bureau.

Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation Introductory Class
10:00 am - 1:00 pm, The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua
This 3-hour introductory class is a new initiative for the 2011 program. Targeted towards local F&B professionals, under the guidance of Master Sommeliers, attendees will "tour" the great winegrowing regions of the world in enthusiastic detail. The emphasis is on education and fun, and the Guild intends to foster lively discussion among attendees and educators, who, as Master Sommeliers, are some of the world's foremost experts on wine. The seminar spans the entire map of the wine world, including the United States, Bordeaux, Tuscany, Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, Australia, Germany, and more. Proceeds from the class are returned directly to the Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation.
