2 men found guilty in cab driver stabbing, robbery case

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two men on trial for stabbing and robbing a cab driver were found guilty Wednesday afternoon.

Courage Elkshoulder was convicted of assault and robbery, while John Walton was convicted of attempted murder and robbery for the 2008 incident in Manoa.

According to prosecutors, Elkshoulder and Walton ordered the cabbie to drive to the back of Manoa Valley and then attacked him.

The victim, Minh Tran, recovered from his stab wounds and testified at the trial.

Elkshoulder faces a mandatory 20 year sentence for 1st degree robbery, and Walton faces life in prison. The two will be sentenced August 10th. Both plan to file appeals.
