Maui attorney disbarred for misconduct

HONOLULU (AP) - The Hawaii Supreme Court has disbarred a Maui attorney.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel said in a news release Tuesday that 53-year-old Vickery Russell violated rules of professional conduct involving three clients.

She is ordered to pay restitution to three of her clients as a condition of reinstatement.

The order says the disbarment is also due to the fact she no longer maintains a law practice in the state.

Russell was admitted to the Hawaii bar in 1990 and is a graduate of the University of San Francisco.

She could not be reached for comment.
