July 10, 2005. The Kapolei Home Depot is open for business when police say 40 year old Wilfred Dela Cruz decides he's going to shop for free.
"Two males walked into the kapolei home depot and proceeded to put numerous tools into their shopping cart. they walked around the store being observed by security," said Sgt. Kim Buffett of Honolulu Crimestoppers.
Then Dela Cruz and the man take some bold steps and walks right out the Garden Center without paying. But alarm goes off and a clerk detains Dela Cruz until police arrive and arrest him for second degree theft.
Then on December 19, 2006 police say Dela Cruz turns up in a drug bust in Kaneohe.
Narcotics officers serve a search warrant on a Lilipuna street address and arrest Dela Cruz for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and for promoting dangerous drugs in the third degree.
Dela Cruz was convicted of the crimes and given probation but on March 17 2011, he failed to comply with the terms and conditions of his strict HOPE probation and is now considered on the run wanted on two $20, 000 cash only Probation Revocation Warrants.
Dela Cruz is described as 5 foot 7inches tall, weighing 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Buffett said, he has tribal tatoos on his right shoulder, forearm and right calft with a tatoo of his name, Dela Cruz, on his back.
Dela Cruz has 11 prior convictions and known to frequent the Honolulu area. Helping police find him, could put up to a $1,000 in your pocket. Wilfred Dela Cruz is our fugitive on the run this Wanted Wednesday.
