FBI stats show drop in violent crime

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation says there was a 5.5 percent drop in the number of violent crimes in the U.S. from 2009 to 2010.

According to those statistics, property crimes are down 2.8 percent.

In Honolulu, most crimes are down, but 12 murders were reported in 2010, compared to 10 in 2009.

More burglaries and motor vehicle thefts in Honolulu were also reported.
