Large tree, electric poles fall along Mililani Cemetery Road

MILILANI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two electric poles and a large tree have fallen along the Mililani Cemetery Access Road.  It happened just after 3:30 Sunday afternoon.  Fortunately, no one was injured, but the poles and tree are blocking the roadway.

Crews are trying to open at least one lane for traffic to pass.

    Honolulu firefighters worked to extinguish a fire at an apartment building on Kapiolani Boulevard Monday evening.  The call came in around 6:30 p.m. HFD responded and all westbound lanes of Kapiolani boulevard prior to Date Street were closed.     A man who was on vacation from Canada died Monday after a fatal trip to the beach.  According to Maui fire officials, crews were called out to Ulua Beach just after 12:15 p.m. Monday.  There, bystanders were performing CPR on a 66-year-old man visiting from Saskatchewan Canada.  Despite revival efforts, officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was reportedly scuba diving with a family member.
