HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival is a four-day event showcasing LGBT films from around the world, including the world premiere of Margaret Cho's latest film, "Cho Dependent." It takes place May 12-15 at the Doris Duke Theatre in the Academy of Arts.
Actor Alec Mapa and Academy Award-winning producer Dan Jinks stopped by Sunrise to preview this weekend's events.
The festival includes a gala event on Friday, May 13 at 9 p.m. at Chai's Island Bistro in Aloha Tower Marketplace. The evening will be co-hosted by actor Alec Mapa and Sean Paul Lockhart. This is an annual fundraising event for the Honolulu Gay and Lesbian Cultural Foundation. Tickets cost $50 and include heavy pupus and a screening of the film "E-Cupid."
Single admission tickets cost $10 for general films and $15 for opening, gala and closing night films. Film only passes are also available for $75 and include entrance to all films and outreach events held throughout the year.
