Police arrest woman in Waikiki stabbing

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 32-year-old woman is in police custody accused of a stabbing in Waikiki Sunday night.

Officers arrested Ferolyn Tanuvasa on Lewers Street near Lauula Street on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder. 

A 44-year-old man told police he was arguing with the suspect, who is an acquaintance, when she allegedly stabbed him with a knife.

Tanuvasa was also booked on two $500 contempt warrants.

    There's good news for those who had to put their plans to visit some of Hawaii's natural parks on hold.  With the end of the federal government shutdown, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Haleakala National Park will reopen Tuesday. Volcano park officials say they will reopen with normal operations on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Those wanting to catch the sunrise at the house of the sun — Haleakala — may do so Tuesday morning.  Park officials ...
