HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Yesterday's flood advisories have all expired.. but there is the chance for more heavy weather today. The upper atmosphere continues to be very unstable and heavy showers, even thundershowers could develop very quickly. The islands are most at risk for the heavy weather this afternoon.
The tradewinds are very light in most places, which may allow for afternoon sea breezes. There are exceptions. We have been receiving reports of very strong winds in Kamuela on Hawaii island.
The summits and upper slopes of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island are under a Winter Weather Advisory. Forecasters are calling for snow flurries and freezing fog. Roads could be icy and very dangerous above 8,000 feet.
