HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Help from Hawaii has arrived in Alabama, and more is on the way. Saturday afternoon, we caught up with Red Cross worker, Elizabeth Norcross, who just left on a flight to Birmingham.
This is her first trip to a disaster area, where she'll be tasked with supervising the flow of money and donations. Norcross says she's ready to get to work. "The people in Alabama and the nine other states that have had tornadoes, they need help from the Red Cross, and the Red Cross relies on donations. I'm glad I can help, because they need help, and so this is one way I can."
Another Hawaii Red Cross worker from the Big Island leaves Saturday night. Two others are already in the region.
