Kailua teacher arrested for throwing hammer at student

KAILUA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A teacher from Kailua High School was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly hit a student in the head with a hammer earlier this month.

Fifty-year-old David Zuni was arrested for third-degree assault.

The student sustained head injuries and received several stitches.

Izumi was released on $200 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 25.
