Taste of East Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)-Get ready to experience culinary delights from some of O‘Oahu's finest chefs and restaurants at the Fifth Annual Taste of East O‘ahu (TEO) on the grounds of Calvary By The Sea Church (CBTS) at 5339 Kalanianaole Highway on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m.  All proceeds from the event will benefit three CBTS programs.

As the crowds have proven year after year, this "Taste" evening is a winner.  This year's Taste of East O‘ahu guarantees an outstanding food, wine, and entertainment extravaganza.  The impressive list of Chefs from many of O‘Oahu's top restaurants will be present to serve their gourmet specialties and tantalize the taste buds including Chefs Chai Chaowasaree, Chef Hardy and Chef Peter Foster, to name a few.  Come and taste fine wines provided by HASR Wine Company (over 40 kinds), and a variety of beers, as well as sample delicacies and desserts from the following restaurants and food providers:

Chai's Island Bistro:  owner/chef Chai Chaowasaree's unique Contemporary Island and Pacific Rim Cuisine; located at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

Duke's Waikiki:  With Chef Keith Kong's intriguing blend of soul and style, Duke's has been a driving force in reinvigorating Waikiki with Hawaiian culture and lore.  Located at Outrigger Waikiki.

Maile's Thai Bistro:  Now opened for a year, owner Maile Sayarath has gotten rave reviews on her restaurant.  Located at Hawaii Kai Towne Center. 

Memoirs Hawaii: Premier Chef Peter Foster provides an unprecedented approach to catering and private chef services. He has served up exclusive memories for his clients on boats and beaches, remotes hillsides, lawns and lanais.

Michels: at the Colony Surf on Waikiki's Gold Coast, Chef Hardy provides delectable dishes celebrating the rebirth of classical French cuisine.

Pizza-In-The-Raw:  Chef Bill Bruhl's newest endeavor. They arrange the pizza for you, pre-designed or build your own, and you take it home and bake it.  Made with all fresh and local ingredients. Located in Kaimuki.

Poke Stop: Renowned Chef Elmer Guzman creates tantalizing fare from local favorites to the refined Asian and European contemporary cuisine at his two locations in Waipahu and Mililani Mauka and has a complete catering menu. 

Cake Couture:  In addition to their daily flavors, customized Cake Couture Cupcakes can be ordered for parties, weddings, showers and kid's events.  Located at Aina Haina Shopping Center.

Hokulani Bake Shop:  Home of the hand-decorated, Hawaiian-themed cookies by husband and wife team Tushar and Ana Dubey; located at Restaurant Row.

HASR Wine Company:  HASR stands for Highly Allocated Spoiled Rotten. Terry Kakazu and her wine experts will be on hand to facilitate taste testing of 40+ of its fine wines and pair them with the sumptuous "Taste" bites of participating chefs.
