Hilo Hattie Japan Fundraising T-shirts

Hilo Hattie will be offering two different designs of t-shirts with 100% of the profits being donated to the American Red Cross for Japan relief efforts. The shirts will sell for only $9.99 each plus tax and will be sold in all eight Hawaii stores. One design is "Aloha for Japan" with the time and date of the earthquake and with the islands of Japan, like a lei, draped in the middle of the "rising sun". On the back of this t-shirt design are words of encouragement translated into Hawaiian. The concepts of Hope, Heal and Help are felt by all, as Japan continues to deal with the disasters of March 11, 2011.  The other design is the red Hinomaru ("rising sun") with a heart design around it that says "feel the aloha…..". In a symbolic way, the people of Hawaii, wants Japan to know that we send our Aloha to them and that we love them. The t-shirts are for sale on Oahu and the neighbor island stores will start selling on Monday, 3/28. T-shirts will be available for sale online at HiloHattie.com by the end of March. "As more news of Japan becomes available, it is obvious that more aid and assistance is needed for recovery," says Donald B.S. Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd., parent company of Hilo Hattie, "therefore, Hilo Hattie has produced exclusive benefit t-shirts to provide another venue to donate to the American Red Cross for Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami relief."

Mamo Expands Into Exciting New Product Lines

Savvy clients, who enjoy Mamo Howell's subtle mixture of fashion couture and island culture in clothing, can now enjoy Mamo's new lifestyle products for the home. In 1978, Mamo began marketing a baby blanket that she designed after her fashion years in New York and Paris. For three years, this was the only product of her one-man company. Mamo's grandmother and mother were quilters and this was the inspiration for the design of "Kihei Pili by Mamo". This original blanket has been recently recreated by Mamo and is now available for future generations to enjoy and can be purchased at all Hilo Hattie stores.

For the kitchen, Mamo has launched new Hawaiian aprons, potholders and oven mitts, all in exclusive Mamo Howell floral prints. Mamo's unique designs are also reflected in her four new contemporary mugs that are individually gift boxed. And for the environmentally fashion conscious, there are now insulated cooler bags in six classic quilt patterns in eye catching colors. Additional products will be continually added throughout 2011 to complement her new Mamo Howell line of products for the home.

"Hilo Hattie is honored to exclusively develop, manufacture and sell this new Mamo Howell line of products," says Donald B.S. Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd., parent company of Hilo Hattie. "For over 20 years, Mamo has been an iconic local name in the Hawaii marketplace and we are pleased to assist in the expansion of her brand and product mix."

A new spring release of the Mamo clothing line for men, women and children is available at all Hilo Hattie stores on all islands, including Island Edge by Hilo Hattie at the Ala Moana Center and online at www.HiloHattie.com.
