HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)-Each year, more than 3,000 kids and their families gather at Bishop Museum to celebrate YMCA Healthy Kids Day. This year's free event will be held Saturday, April 16, from 9 am – 2 PM, at the Bishop Museum. The YMCA Healthy Kids Day is part of a nationwide effort to encourage kids to get moving, serving as the nation's largest health day for kids and their families.More than 20 exhibitors will highlight the importance of physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices, and active play through fun, engaging and creative activities.
This year's event will feature a performance by slack key guitarist and multiple Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Jeff Peterson. Other activities include interactive games, a family obstacle course, a YMCA fun zone, healthy cooking demonstrations, face painting, free health screenings and CPR training, exercise demonstrations, and various performances by keiki dance troupes including the YMCA's own Dance Central.Check out the video!
