INVESTIGATION INTO DEADLY WAIKELE FIREWORKS EXPLOSION CONTINUES

Investigators from the Honolulu Fire Department, the Honolulu Police Department, and the federal Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms continued their investigations into the tragic and deadly fireworks mishap that left five people dead late last week in Waikele. We'll have the latest information available, tonight at 5.

JEWELRY STORE ROBBERS SOUGHT

Two brazen jewelry store thieves are being sought by Honolulu police tonight. The pair -- armed with a shotgun and a hammer -- tried to rob the Zales Jewelry store in the Waikele Outlet Mall. We'll show you surveillance tape of the botched -- and somewhat comical -- robbery attempt. That's tonight at 5.

ELEVATED LEVELS OF IODINE IN MILK TESTED IN HILO

The Environmental Protection Agency says it has found higher than normal levels of iodine in milk sold in Hilo. They say the elevated levels do not pose a health risk. The most up to date information on this story tonight at 5, including what parents of young children need to know.

ED CASE LIVE IN STUDIO

Yesterday Ed Case declared his candidacy for the U.S Senate; today, he's live in our studios to talk story about his decision to run for the seat to be vacated by the retirement of Dan Akaka next year. We'll ask him Mr. Case about the race ahead and what how much money he'll need to finance his big campaign. That's tonight at 5:30 on KHNL.
