WAIKELE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are looking for two men who donned masks and used a shotgun and a hammer in an effort to rob a jewelry store at the Waikele Premium Outlets Saturday night.

Investigators say the men stormed into the Zales Outlet at about 8:40 PM, and one of them struck several display cases with a hammer to try to get to the jewelry inside. When that failed, the second suspect reportedly fired a shotgun at the display cases, but the glass still didn't shatter enough for the pair to gain access to the merchandise.

Witnesses took down the license plate number of the getaway car as the men fled the scene. Officers later located the stolen vehicle engulfed in flames on Lelepua Street.

Police have classified the case as a first-degree robbery, first-degree reckless endangerment, auto theft, and first-degree arson.

No one in the store was injured.
