HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A bird caused a few scary moments for passengers aboard a Maui-bound Alaska Airline flight Saturday morning.
Airport officials say the critter struck one of the plane's engines shortly after flight 869 took off from California. The pilot quickly returned the aircraft to the Sacramento airport as a precaution.
None of the 163 passengers or crew on board were injured. The passengers were put on another plane, which headed out again for Maui.
