Wahine softball stomps Nevada

HONOLULU—The University of Hawaii softball team (26-12, 4-3 WAC) bounced back with a win over Nevada, 3-1 on Friday night. Junior pitcher Stephanie Ricketts (16-9, 3-2 WAC) earned the complete-game win while designated player Sarah Robinson helped lead UH with a two-run home run.

Ricketts tossed her 23rd complete game of the season, allowing just one run on three hits with no walks and eight strike outs. She retired 14-straight Wolf Pack batters after a one-out hit in the first inning through the fifth inning. Ricketts moved into third place all-time with her 96th career start.

The Rainbow Wahine and the Wolf Pack square off in the series-ending doubleheader Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
