3 men arrested after fight in Nawiliwili

NAWILIWILI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kauai police arrested three men following a fight near Nawiliwili Tavern early Friday morning.

The fight broke out at around 2 a.m. According to officials, a crowd between 60 and 80 people had witnessed the altercation.

Two men from Virginia -- 20-year-old Jerry Morlett, Jr. and 21-year-old Marcus Thorton -- were arrested along with 22-year-old Braven Knight of Kapaa for third degree assault.

Police use a Taser to subdue the men after two of them refused to comply with officers.

While two of the men were being handcuffed, another fight broke out involving Morlett, Jr. and an unknown male suspect. The unknown male then fled and has not been located.

Fire crews and medics also responded to the scene. The suspects were treated before taken away into police custody.

According to police, all three men were later released pending court dates.
