"S.O.S." leads to two women's rescue on Kauai

PRINCEVILLE, Kauai (HawaiiNewsNow) - "S.O.S." marked a spot in the sand on Kauai Thursday, and led to two women's rescue.

Several Navy pilots and an air crew were training at PMRF, Barking Sands when they respond to an emergency at Kalalau Beach on the Na Pali Coast. A local tour helicopter had seen the "S.O.S." and alerted authorities. Two Navy pilots and air crewmen, went to help, since they were training at the Pacific Missile Range Facility in the area.

Crews took both victims to PMRF for emergency treatment, and were then transported to Veterans Memorial Hospital. One of the women was not only ill, but also seriously injured.
