Memorial service scheduled for man who died in H-1 multi-vehicle accident

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A memorial service will be held for the man who was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on the H-1 Freeway on Mar. 31.

The "Celebration of Life" for John David Tyner will take place at the Central Union Church of Honolulu on Friday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m.

Tyner was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle the night of the accident.

Tyner worked as an engineering technician at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. He also completed a 29-year active duty career with the United States Navy and retired as a Command Master Chief from the Naval Security Group in 2007.

Anyone interested in making a charitable donation in Tyner's name is asked to donate to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and/or the American Heart Association.
