Dent delays Hawaiian Airlines flight

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaiian Airlines flight was delayed for several hours Saturday after passengers were told a dent was detected on the exterior of their plane.

The passengers were told that the dent was found during an inspection of HAL flight 10, which was scheduled to leave Honolulu for Los Angeles at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Hawaiian was able to switch the flight to another plane, which left just after 1 p.m.

The finding comes a day after a Southwest Airlines jet made an emergency landing in Arizona because of a hole that developed mid-flight.

Passengers on the Boeing 737 from Phoenix to Sacramento heard what sounded like a gunshot. The cabin depressurized, and oxygen masks came down.

The 15 year-old plane made an emergency landing at a military base in Yuma, Ariz. None of the 123 people aboard was seriously injured.
