HONONLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Michelle Wie, carded a 67 in round two of the Kraft Nabisco Championship Friday, the low round of the day, to vault 46 places into a tie for eighth.
Wie, who had two top-four finishes at Mission Hills as an amateur, got off to an inauspicious start, hitting a young girl with her opening tee shot. She salvaged par after the ball bounced off the child's head and into the fairway.
"I never felt so horrible about a shot ever," Wie said.
She had reason to feel good about her putting after taking 24 strokes with her putter, six fewer than in her opening-round 74.
"I think the greens are getting firmer and the rough is growing," Wie said. "It's pretty tough."
